I enjoyed the piece this week because it didn't play as much with the hipster photo lighting but more with the idea of perspective. I thought this piece was so interesting with scenario of a the gunshot but instead of blood spatter and a gun they used a camera and pictures shooting out. I love the forced perspective and the fun that this person had with the uniqueness of the idea. I also thought it was interesting how they made The back mono chromatic and made the pictures brighter colors along with the person wearing a red sweatshirt so that there was more of an emphasis on those. The only thing i thought was wrong was the photos were of random things and not really well picked out. Otherwise the perspective on this photo was absolutely brilliant.

I fell in love with this photo. I think this photographer had beautiful placement of his objects... obviously. I like how he had a spotted filter in the background so it looks like light. At the same time though he blurred it so it didn't overtake the picture. I also like how he blurred the person in the background and made the flower the main emphasis. The color of the flower also helped make it more of an emphasis because it a bright color against a neutral background. Overall the placement of the flower of the photo makes this a really unique and a different approach to the hipster photo.

This is the definition of hipster/ forever alone which was one of my themes for my concentration project. I did something similar to this with my friend except mine is better because it is a little more colorful. Anyway... I love the faded out photo effect on the picture because it almost gives it a calmer sort of feel to the photo. Also the placement is brilliant with her almost sitting on the end excluding herself from anyone else gives the photo an uninviting feel to the photo. Also it is very vintage hipster with the old park bench. Although this photo is a little less detailed than most it creates a better atmosphere for the photo because it is supposed to be forever alone. Overall it is a great representation of the common theme forever alone and very hipster with the photo filter.

This is probably my favorite photo that i picked out so far. I love how it looks like an old time photo with the antique umbrella and how it has a sepia tone to it. Yet there is the use of the dark edge photo filtering around the. And yet again the use of the blur tool as well. Also by making the person clearer and not blurred places more of an emphasis on the person. I also like the subtle use of blue in the sky and with the blurred out off white in the clouds make it seems like she is almost in a painting because the background almost looks like it has been painted. The only thing that bothered me about the photo is the dress was too dark and I wish it would have been brighter so it could place more of an emphasis on the girl.

Journal Entry.... I lost count.

So I switched my photo concentration at the last second. I was like black and white is too generic. I wanted to go modern. And since the hipster photos are in now, i decided to do that. I don't know what draws me to it, but it sure isn't the bad lighting. Probably the photo filtering like in this one. I love her use of only two colors with the green and yellow. Another thing i love about this photo is her use of the blur tool on photo shop. And it isn't just a blur of the background it is blur of the whole photo. And thats what makes it so fantastically hipster and different.

Journal Entry numero 6

I decided to for sure for my concentration project to do close up fashion portraits. What drew me to this picture was the texture of the hat that was used on the model. I love the pattern that it leaves over the majority of the face, but it doesn't over take the model's facial features. Another successful thing that this photographer did was having her stretch her neck and gives the model a taller look and also a taller look to the entire photo. The photographer also blurred out the background to place more of an emphasis on the model. Also instead of putting this photo color, the black and white gives the photo a more old look and elegant feel to it.

So I chose to do high fashion photography for my concentration project. I liked this one because of the use of light. There is a gradient change of light from dark to light. This gives the picture more values of light grays, whites, and dark grays. It gives it softer lines on certain parts of the face while the other part is a lot harder of lines. I liked this one better than last week's because of the close of which gives a more textured feel to the picture and really focuses on the lines of the face. I think for the rest of my blogs i will probably concentrate more on the natural close up shots of high fashion photography.
