Black and White

This black and white photo has so much attention to the detail and light. I love the use of photo shop to bring out the details within the eye. By making it bolder it makes the pupil and the surrounding parts of the eye look more texturized and have more depth. Also this image uses a gray scale which creates a more gradual and texturized look to the photo. At the same time the photographer makes it obvious that the pupil of the eye is the emphasis because the photographer contrasts the skin with a really bright white underneath and the pupil black. Overall this photo is a highly contrasted and contemporary piece of work that uses lighting and photoshop to make it unique.

Analogous

A little change from the food theme, but still awesome is this photo. This uses the analogous color scheme with green and yellow. Usually analogous color schemes involve a multitude of colors right next to each other. But simplicity is key. What drew me to this photo was the use of the blurred background which is something you see a lot in modern photography and is facilitated with photoshop. :) I also love the focus with the glasses so it is like you are almost putting them on and all the colors become clearer. The green really helps the yellow pop out in the clearer part of the glasses also with most of the green blurred out it helps it pop even more.

Complimentary

Keeping on the idea of food from last time. :) This has a very distinct complimentary color scheme of blue and yellow. Since there is only two colors in this photo it gives the yellow egg a bigger emphasis and more of a pop. This also has a very modern feel to the photo with the use of bold complimentary colors. Also it provides the modern look with simplistic props such as an egg and a blue plate. I also love the texture of the egg and the rule of thirds used to place emphasis on the egg as well. Eat up! :)

Monochromatic

This image has a monochromatic scheme because of the use of greens. Even though there are only two distinctive shades of green, this helps the emphasis of the photo. The use of a lighter and brighter green in the apple contrasts the darker and duller green of the hand. Also the gray- green tint in the background provides emphasis on the hand and the apple. I also love the simplicity of this photo. The use of just one object draws the eye to only that one object which is something you see often in modern photography. It gives it a clean look to the photo.
